Company Overview

Founded in 1887 by the first generation Matsumoto Kamekichi.
It is said that Japanese candles were manufactured as a domain business of the Himeji clan.
Matsumoto Shoten, a purveyor to the Himeji Domain, was separated from the manufacturer designated by Himeji Castle in1877.
Production then began in Fukushima Ward, Osaka City, and moved to Nishinomiya after the war.
Currently, the fourth generation, Mr. Yasukazu Matsumoto, is the company’s president, and the company manufactures and sells picture candles for use in temples and homes.
